Founded in 2001, Germany’s Longstanding Energy Drink Brand

Rhino’s Energy Drink is a longstanding German energy drink brand that was founded in Munich in 2001. By this time, Red Bull was already extremely popular in Europe, and energy drink brands were flourishing faster than in the U.S.

Amid this surge, "Red Rhino" was born. The name initially seemed like a direct copy of Red Bull, but it was later changed to "Rhino’s," which it retains to this day.

Rhino’s Expanded Globally

Around 2013, Rhino’s was at its peak. Not only in Europe but also in the U.S., it started to gain traction. This period saw a significant rise in European energy drink brands entering the American market, and it was also when Energy Drink Mania launched its website.

However, in the U.S., where Monster Energy, Rockstar, and of course Red Bull dominated, Rhino’s couldn’t compete and gradually faded away.

Now, even in Germany, it’s rare to see Rhino’s products, and it's uncertain whether the brand is still alive.

Having not undergone much design renewal for over a decade, it would be great if the brand could revamp its design and focus more on promoting its flavor. I hope it can make a comeback in the mature German energy drink market.
