This is a review of Raoh Energy Amaou, released in October 2024 as part of a collaboration with Fist of the North Star’s Raoh, launching alongside two flavors simultaneously.

When opened, it releases a sweet aroma reminiscent of strawberry candy. The liquid inside, however, is yellow—quite different from the strawberry flavor I had imagined. You can also see some pulpy bits floating, likely from the fruit juice. Now, let's take a sip.

Upon tasting, a pleasantly sweet and tart strawberry flavor spreads through the mouth, much more natural than the initial scent suggested.

The gentle tartness balances out the sweetness, creating a juicy, fresh strawberry pulp sensation. It's quite surprising how this avoids the typical artificial candy-like taste of most strawberry-flavored drinks, offering instead a more natural profile.

While it's not exactly the flavor of real fruit, there's nothing overly artificial about it either. The slightly stronger strawberry aroma and tartness that lingers after swallowing blend nicely, making it easy to keep drinking without hesitation.

Raoh is boldly illustrated on the front, with manga panels covering the entire can. All the dialogue has been specially rewritten in Raoh Energy and energy drink style, making even the text fun to read.

The can’s surface features partial matte texturing, giving it a subtle roughness that feels like touching the actual pages of a manga.

It’s not an over-the-top matte finish; rather, it seems purposefully understated, which makes for a brilliant touch.

When placed side by side, you can see that the Raoh Energy Amaou can has a soft pink tone throughout, making it easy to distinguish between the two flavors even without reading the names. The color also evokes the dyed paper used in manga magazines, which is a clever and nostalgic design choice.
