This is a review of BLACK ENERGY MELON, released in March 2025. For this review, I picked up BLACK ENERGY MELON in Poland shortly after its release in the spring of 2025.

Once opened, a sweet aroma reminiscent of melon juice spreads out. It smells like a sweet Japanese muskmelon, and the flavoring is reproduced quite well. Now, let’s take a sip.

On the palate, it tastes more tart and sweet than the aroma suggests, with a flavor similar to apple flesh, while the sweet scent of melon flesh passes through the nose.

Although the aroma is sweet and juicy, the taste itself leans toward a sweet-and-tart profile. If you are expecting the rich sweetness of melon flesh, this contrast may feel a bit off. Judging by the taste alone, it is closer to an apple-based flavor than to melon.

If the acidity were toned down just a little more, it might have delivered a juicier flavor closer to that of Japanese muskmelon.

The aftertaste leaves a slight sweet-and-tart residue, which does hint at melon-like notes, but overall, the level of completion as a melon flavor feels somewhat low.

It has a rich, satisfying body and a solid mouthfeel, yet BLACK ENERGY MELON is a half-sugar formulation, with sugar content at about half that of a typical energy drink.

Despite being half-sugar, it delivers a mouthfeel comparable to a full-sugar drink. While the reproduction of melon flavor is not particularly high, the ability to recreate a full-sugar-like drinking experience in a half-sugar formula is highly commendable.

For that reason, while it does not score highly as a “melon flavor,” it should still offer an above-average taste as a fruity half-sugar energy drink.

It contains 80 mg of caffeine and 750 mg of taurine. The sugar content is 4.9 g per 100 ml, making it a half-sugar formulation.
