Released in March 2024, guava is a classic flavor in the energy drink world, but this marks the first time the BURN series has introduced a guava variant. In this review, I’ll be looking at BURN GUAVA, which I picked up in Poland in spring 2025.

When opened, it releases a sweet-and-sour aroma reminiscent of real guava fruit. The liquid, however, appears slightly different from its aroma, showing a vibrant, translucent pink color. Let's give it a try.

On the palate, the sweet-and-sour guava flavor spreads first, accompanied by a subtle hint of pink grapefruit’s refreshing aroma. It also carries the complexity of a tropical fruit mix, with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The rich tropical guava flavor fills the mouth, making it almost a flawless expression of the fruit.

Initially, you can taste a blend of several fruits, but as you continue drinking, your senses begin to focus on the guava itself, allowing you to fully appreciate the refined single-fruit flavor.

The finish carries a candy-like note, so it does not exactly replicate the taste of real fruit. Still, as a non-juice guava beverage, the quality is impressively high.

Since Burn became part of the Monster Energy family, the series has adopted a half-sugar formula, using roughly half the sugar of a standard full-sugar drink.

BURN GUAVA also follows this half-sugar approach, yet it delivers a satisfying and full-bodied drinking experience. Among the Burn lineup, this is one of the most refined and accomplished flavors.

Energy Ingredients of BURN GUAVA

It contains 80mg of caffeine, 1000mg of taurine, and inositol.

With sugar reduced to half of a typical full-sugar drink, the calorie count is moderate. This half-sugar approach seems to strike a good balance between taste and the current market trend of sugar-free energy drinks.

The pink flames and khaki colors represent the guava’s skin and flesh, making it easy to visualize the flavor from the can design.

While it is not as refined as the Burn series during the Coca-Cola era, the design effectively captures the image of guava fruit flavor.

The back of the can features an energy poem, a hallmark since Burn joined the Monster Energy family, along with the tagline "Light it up!" that was added post-acquisition.

The rear design inevitably carries a strong impression of a Monster Energy sub-brand. Ideally, adopting a concept or design that emphasizes BURN’s independent identity could further enhance the brand’s value.
