KONG STRONG WILD POWER ZERO SUGAR LYCHEE
This is KONG STRONG WILD POWER ZERO SUGAR LYCHEE, released in March 2024 at LIDL in Poland.
It's interesting to see that while major brands in Poland have been gradually expanding their zero-sugar product lines since 2024, even private label energy drinks at supermarkets are starting to shift toward sugar-free options.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of KONG STRONG WILD POWER ZERO SUGAR LYCHEE
When opened, a sweet, refreshing, and floral aroma of lychee and mangosteen bursts out. There's nothing cheap about the fragrance—it’s surprisingly refined for a supermarket private brand. While I expected the liquid to be white like lychee flesh, it turned out to be a light pink, seemingly inspired by lychee skin. Let’s give it a taste.
As I took a sip, I was surprised by the taste—it's like a flavored sparkling water with hardly any sweetness and a subtle lychee aroma.
The lychee flavoring is quite strong and prominent, creating a striking contrast with the ultra-light flavor of the drink. Most people will likely be surprised by the gap between the intense aroma and the mild taste.
The flavor is refreshing and clean, and there’s a faint residual mouthfeel that gives it more depth than you'd expect from a zero-sugar drink. Even though the flavor is definitely light, there’s a strange sense of satisfaction... the flavoring really works its magic.
It’s also curious how the lingering lychee aroma leaves a subconscious sense of satisfaction.
This is a well-made energy drink that lets you enjoy both the light, refreshing feeling of a zero-sugar formula and the distinctive flavor of lychee.
Energy Ingredients of KONG STRONG WILD POWER ZERO SUGAR LYCHEE
Contains 80mg of caffeine and 1000mg of taurine.
Although the rich color of the can might suggest otherwise, it’s a zero-sugar, ultra-low-calorie drink. Since 2024, many existing brands in Poland seem to be gradually increasing the share of their zero-sugar products.
Design of KONG STRONG WILD POWER ZERO SUGAR LYCHEE
The can features the familiar gorilla face common to the regular KONG STRONG series. For this lychee flavor, a rich wine-red color reminiscent of lychee skin has been used.
This edition also features a diagonal line pattern and a hand catching lightning next to the gorilla’s face, creating a somewhat cheap look typical of supermarket private label energy drinks.
At the time of its release, promotional images like this were also created.
The flavor is easy to understand, and the familiar gorilla image from KONG STRONG works really well. I also enjoy checking out the advertisements for private label energy drinks like this.
