It’s zero calories and zero sugar, which might make you think it's healthy, but let’s not dwell on that (-_-;)

Flavor of Monster Energy Zero Ultra

The flavor is sweet, like lychee and aloe. It also has a bit of a Calpis vibe, given the color. You can probably imagine this flavor just from the look of it.
The aroma isn’t very strong. If you’re expecting the usual strong smell from Japanese Monster Energy, this might be a bit of a letdown. Unfortunately, the empty can doesn’t work as an air freshener either. It’s that refreshing, with no lingering aftertaste.
The can is large and bulky, but the taste is something Japanese girls would probably like.

Even though it’s zero sugar, it’s still sweet. It’s super sweet at room temperature, so it’s better to chill it really well and drink it fast. When it gets warm, it starts to feel a little too much.

I picked up this smaller 330ml can of MONSTER ENERGY ULTRA during a trip to Shenzhen, China. What surprised me when I poured it into a glass was its yellowish, milky-white color. It was clearly nothing like the original white MONSTER ENERGY ZERO ULTRA.

The flavor is also less sweet and leans more toward a tart, acidic profile. Another characteristic of the Chinese MONSTER ENERGY ULTRA is a faint medicinal or chemical-like note that may or may not briefly appear in the aftertaste.

A refreshing lychee-like flavor with a subtle tartness that adds a nice accent to the sweetness. The distinctive Ultra flavor is relatively mild, giving it a clean, easy-drinking finish. Compared with the original ZERO ULTRA, I find this version even more refreshing and easier to drink.
