Released in March 2017, CELSIUS SPARKLING CUCUMBER LIME was the first product in the CELSIUS SPARKLING series, commonly referred to as the "Natural Series." It was manufactured until 2023, but by 2024, it disappeared from the official website.

CELSIUS SPARKLING CUCUMBER LIME used natural caffeine and was made with all-natural ingredients, which is why it was initially called the "Natural Series" (a nickname from the manufacturer, as there was no mention of the series name on the product itself).

Later, the product’s name was changed to the "Stevia Series," possibly due to discontinuing the use of natural caffeine, although the exact reason remains unclear. Additionally, the design was revamped. For this review, I’ll be focusing on the original version from the Natural Series.

Opening the can, I was immediately greeted by the tangy scent of lime and the fresh, light fragrance of cucumber. I was surprised to see the cloudy yellow color inside. I think a more cucumber flesh-like white might have been better. Let’s give it a taste.

Upon tasting, the subtle tartness of the lime and the refreshing cucumber flavor blend together, creating a crisp and refreshing flavor reminiscent of flavored water.

The cucumber flavor is more subdued than I expected, but the level of authenticity is quite high. The lime flavor seems to come more from fragrance rather than actual taste.

It seems like the goal was to emphasize the cucumber flavor, with little to no sweetness or umami, and almost no artificial aftertaste. It’s a lightly carbonated flavored water that’s perfect for hydration.

For those who expect strong or artificial flavors from an energy drink, it might feel surprisingly underwhelming. However, I think it will be a hit for those who prefer a more health-conscious and natural taste. Personally, I really enjoy both the flavor and fragrance.

The CELSIUS series includes their proprietary "Metaplus Blend," which contains ginger root, guarana seed extract, chromium, vitamins, and green tea extract, all designed to promote fat burning. It might be useful to combine with exercise to enhance fat-burning efficiency.

The Natural Series, unlike the regular version, uses stevia as a sweetener. This led to the later announcement of the "Stevia Series." (As of 2024, it has been discontinued.)

The design features a clean, refreshing look with a white base and a combination of lime and cucumber greens, along with silver accents.

The version I’m reviewing is from the early release of the "Natural Series." This series has a silver top and a bright, clean overall feel.

The green background on the front of the can isn’t specific to the cucumber and lime flavor but is a color common across all flavors in the Natural Series.

In addition to the usual ingredients, the can lists "Natural Caffeine" second. This only appeared on the early versions of the Natural Series. When it was later rebranded as the "Stevia Series," the "Natural Caffeine" label was removed.

The green icon at the top of the back panel also reflects the common color for the Natural Series.

The back panel uses a lot of mirror-finish silver, giving it a very clean look.

Comparing it to a regular CELSIUS can, you can see how different the impression is.

By avoiding black as much as possible, the design feels much lighter and cleaner.

I was lucky enough to find the last stock of this flavor in the US in 2023. With so many flavors in the CELSIUS series, it’s difficult to find every one of them. I was fortunate to find the last one on the shelf.
