In November 2023, CELSIUS released four flavors of the CELSIUS ESSENTIALS series, a new line specifically designed for serious fitness enthusiasts, during the Mr. Olympia event.

This time, I’m reviewing the CELSIUS ESSENTIALS BLUE CRUSH with a blue raspberry flavor.

When I open the can, a slightly chemical scent of fresh apple flesh bursts out. The smell doesn't initially remind me of blue raspberry. The color inside the can is a yellowish shade, resembling a vitamin drink, which is different from what I imagined. As I reviewed the other flavors, I realized that this color is consistent across all CELSIUS ESSENTIALS products.

When I take a sip, I taste a sweet and tart apple flavor, along with an apricot-like fruitiness and a chemical aftertaste.

The typical sweetness and tartness of blue raspberry are barely noticeable, and the berry flavor isn't very well-represented.

As I continue drinking, the chemical taste becomes more prominent, and it's likely that this artificial flavor is what contributes to the blue raspberry-like taste.

The aftertaste is light and doesn't linger on the tongue, making it easy to drink. The chemical fragrance surprisingly lasts a while, and overall, the flavor gives an impression of chemical apple and chemical apricot.

The drink contains 270mg of caffeine, taurine, guarana, green tea, glucuronolactone, ginger, theanine, isoleucine, and leucine.

The CELSIUS ESSENTIALS series shares the same MetaPlus formula as the regular CELSIUS series, with added amino acids and a higher caffeine content of 270mg—70mg more than the standard version. It’s clear that this series, designed for fitness scenes, differs from the main product line, with its larger volume and enhanced ingredients.

The CELSIUS ESSENTIALS series features a large CELSIUS logo in flavor colors and a mirror-like silver design, covering more than half of the 500ml can. The logo is so large that some might not even notice it's there.

On the back, there are ingredient descriptions, similar to the regular CELSIUS series. It's clear that the CELSIUS ESSENTIALS series is focused on sports and fat-burning, based on the information on the back.

Here are the four flavors that were released together in the CELSIUS ESSENTIALS series. Although the flavors were a bit underwhelming, and I felt that 473ml was too much, I was surprised to see that the flavor lineup would expand further after this.
