In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 8,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of freeway up cranberry
When poured into a glass, the sweet and sour scent of cranberries gently wafts. The color is calm, and it may not look like a typical energy drink.

Upon tasting, the sweet and sour flavor of cranberry spreads, with a slight astringency. Although it lacks the fruitiness, there is a natural-like taste to it. The prominent astringency sets it apart from candy-like flavors aimed at children, giving it a different kind of deliciousness.
It doesn't have the usual chemical taste or an intense punch, making it a drink that you can enjoy like a soft drink. Given its low price, it's recommended as a casual choice when you're shopping at Lidl and happen to grab an energy drink.
Energy Ingredients of freeway up cranberry

It contains 80mg of caffeine and 1000mg of taurine. With standard ingredients comparable to major brands, priced around 50 yen per can, it’s a great option for an affordable energy drink that stays true to the PB (private brand) concept.
Design of freeway up cranberry

The design features red to represent the cranberry flavor, and for some reason, leaves are depicted... though the meaning behind them is unclear. I initially wondered if there was green tea extract, but no such ingredient is included.

On the opposite side, the flavor name is written in a somewhat hard-to-read font.
Released alongside three flavors, this design feels more colorful and flashy compared to the previous mixxed up series. I believe it stood out on store shelves.
