In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 8,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of JAVA MONSTER LO-BALL

The aroma isn't strong, and the color makes it hard to tell if it's sweet or not, making me hesitate a bit before drinking it... The white packaging reminds me of milk rather than coffee, so anyone who isn't fond of sweet coffee energy drinks will likely wonder what it tastes like.
So, I took a sip... ( ゚д゚)ハッ!
Is it too sweet? But surprisingly, it’s quite mild and easy to drink (;´∀`).
There is no bitterness from coffee, but it's still much lighter compared to the usual JAVA experience.
Since it lacks the heavy sweetness of milk, it's easy to drink, almost like having a coffee-flavored dairy product from Japan. Interestingly, it’s drinkable even at room temperature (*´艸`*). If it can be this light on sweetness, I think it could be sold in Japan as well.
JAVA MONSTER has removed the typical coffee flavor and the creamy heaviness, leaving behind a light sweetness that could make it a LO-BALL.

However, since there’s no coffee aroma or flavor at all, it starts to feel like you're not really drinking coffee... haha.
Energy Ingredients of JAVA MONSTER LO-BALL
It contains 160mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine, 400mg of ginseng, along with other ingredients like carnitine, guarana, and maltodextrin.
It’s basically the textbook energy drink formula!
From LO-BALL to VANILLA LIGHT
The packaging design of JAVA MONSTER LO-BALL closely resembles the current release of JAVA MONSTER VANILLA LIGHT as of 2015, and that’s because JAVA MONSTER LO-BALL was rebranded and continued as JAVA MONSTER VANILLA LIGHT.

Both cans are hard to distinguish at first glance, but the Vanilla Light version has a deeper color and more decoration. The white with brown and cream accents gives it a beautiful look (●´ω`●).
Overall, the new Vanilla Light is more polished and elegant, but I personally love the color and design of the LO-BALL the most among the basic JAVA MONSTER cans.
By the way, the exact reason why it’s no longer called LO-BALL is unclear, but maybe it was because the name didn't evoke the right flavor image? Anyone familiar with Energy Drink Mania will probably realize the connection between LO-BALL and VANILLA LIGHT right away.

There are also a few other JAVA MONSTER variants that were renamed and sold. After collecting and trying all of the JAVA MONSTER flavors, I’ve noticed many things, and it has made me appreciate MONSTER ENERGY even more. (´∀`*)
