TIGER white tea LULO

Posted on May 18, 2025 | Last updated June 10, 2025

TIGER white tea LULO
This is a review of TIGER white tea LULO, one of the two lightly carbonated tea energy drinks released simultaneously in December 2024.

I finally managed to find a can in the spring of 2025, when it had already disappeared from almost all store shelves. The speed at which TIGER products are discontinued never ceases to amaze me.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Flavor of TIGER white tea LULO

When opened, a refreshing and sweet-sour aroma of apricot and pomegranate bursts out. The liquid inside is a pale gold, resembling peach flesh. Let's give it a try.
Flavor of TIGER white tea LULO
The first sip reveals a gentle fruit tea flavor, combining a light sweetness of peach flesh with a mild apricot-like tartness.

The juicy, realistic taste of peach flesh creates a refreshing and rich carbonated peach tea that's simply delicious!

Its lightly carbonated mouthfeel and clean aftertaste make it perfect for hot summer days—even though it was released in December 2024.

By the way, the tea flavor is barely noticeable when chilled, but as it warms to room temperature, you can enjoy a gentle tea aroma. Overall, the tea notes are on the weaker side.

The refreshing peach tea flavor is outstanding—but wait, this drink is called "TIGER white tea LULO," so it's supposed to be "LULO Tea," not peach tea. So, I looked into what LULO actually is.

LULO is a South American fruit that looks like a mix between a persimmon and an orange.

Its taste is described as having the tartness of kiwi or lime, combined with tropical fruit flavors like pineapple. To sum it up, it's a "tropical citrus-like fruit."

The TIGER white tea LULO I reviewed has a mild tartness, with sweetness, freshness, and smoothness standing out. So in terms of reproducing the real LULO flavor—honestly, it feels quite far off.

For those who've actually tasted LULO, TIGER white tea LULO might seem like a poor imitation, possibly resulting in a very low rating.

However, if you don't focus on how accurately it reproduces LULO, it's actually a perfect carbonated peach tea for hot and humid summer days. And since it's a half-sugar drink, it's also easier on the body—a definite plus.

Energy Ingredients of TIGER white tea LULO

Energy Ingredients of TIGER white tea LULO
Contains 70mg of caffeine. With about half the sugar content of a typical full-sugar energy drink, it's relatively low in calories.

The half-sugar formulation also includes 20% apple juice.

The can features two tigers and koi fish illustrated in soft pink and beige tones on a white background, creating a classic yet pop style inspired by Japanese and Chinese motifs.

Recent TIGER tea series products often use designs influenced by Japanese anime, manga, and other elements of pop culture.

On the side of the can, you'll find icons displaying the caffeine content and other information.

These icons became standard after new caffeine regulations took effect on January 1, 2024. From them, you can see that this product contains less than the restricted caffeine level.

Limited edition TIGER flavors are often released in sets of two. This one was launched alongside TIGER green tea PASSION FRUIT JASMINE, sharing the same design with only the color changed.

Usually, each flavor gets its own unique design, so it was a bit disappointing that this sparkling tea series only offered color variations. I would’ve loved to see a distinct visual world for each flavor.

The TIGER Series, Pushed to Clearance Shelves Within 4 Months of Release

I picked up TIGER white tea LULO during a trip to Poland in April 2025.

However, by then, it was already nearly impossible to find in stores—the stock had dried up everywhere.

I finally found one buried among the items on a clearance shelf. After digging through various products, I spotted a TIGER white tea LULO.

In Poland, several new TIGER and BLACK flavors are often released just months after a new product hits the market, keeping the main refrigerated shelves constantly full. As a result, older products get moved to these wire basket-style clearance shelves. Some are discounted, while others are simply pushed aside at full price to make space.

This kind of "hunting for discontinued products," reminiscent of what I used to enjoy in the U.S. about 10 years ago, is still very much alive in Poland. Then again, this might be a unique joy for foreign collectors who can’t grab new releases in real time.
