In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Enhanced Bitter Citrus Flavor of V Energy Original

The liquid is the classic golden yellow color typical of mainstream energy drinks. Given the can’s design, you might expect the drink inside to be red, but most of the V Energy Drink series actually have a yellow-colored liquid.

As you take a sip, you'll notice that it builds upon the base flavor of V Energy Original with an intense sourness, creating a bold and bitter aftertaste. It has a citrus-bitter fruit taste, but rather than resembling real fruit, it leans into an artificial flavor that enhances the original V taste.

The sourness is quite strong, and when served ice-cold, it delivers a refreshing and vibrant citrus fruit mix experience. However, when consumed at room temperature or simply chilled in a fridge, the acidity can feel a bit overpowering, and there is a slight residue that lingers. This is definitely a drink best enjoyed with ice.

When served over ice, the citrus bitterness becomes more refreshing, resembling the taste of champagne. If it had stronger carbonation and a slightly lighter color, it could easily be marketed as a champagne-flavored energy drink. However, in its original form, the strong and intense acidity can be a bit too much. Definitely go with ice for the best experience.

The can features a striking metallic red-bronze color with Deadpool’s signature design. The black accents at the top and bottom give it a bold and heavy feel, making it stand out on store shelves.

Even the back of the can is fully designed in Deadpool style.

The Deadpool 2 Edition was available in three different can sizes, but there was also a glass bottle version. This bottle variant was not widely distributed in all stores and had a limited supply, making it a rare collector’s item.

Unlike the canned version, the liquid inside the bottle was red.

When you shake the bottle...

Silver glitter swirls and dances inside. It’s an incredibly beautiful effect, made even more mesmerizing by the transparency of the glass bottle. Watching the silver glitter swirl in a mesmerizing pattern is truly captivating.

After some time, the shimmering glitter gradually settles, but it continues to sparkle beautifully. Looking at energy drinks worldwide, there hasn’t been another product like this outside of the V Energy series. This unique release gained significant attention on social media, successfully combining V Energy’s signature playfulness with a well-executed marketing strategy.
