Released in 2022, ROCKSTAR PUNCHED MANGO is the first simple mango flavor to appear in the Rockstar lineup. While there have been tropical mixed mango flavors before, it's surprising that a pure mango flavor had not been released until now.

Upon opening, there is a scent of artificial mango syrup. There's no fruity or refreshing aroma that you would expect from a ripe mango. The color is also quite intense, with yellow fizzy bubbles that give off a sugary mango flavor feel.

When I take a sip, the mouthfeel is surprisingly light, with a balanced level of sweetness and tartness. There's no sticky aftertaste, and the mango-like aroma gradually fades and lingers.

The flavor and aroma are fairly flat, with little variation, so it feels like a typical carbonated mango juice. However, despite being made without real fruit juice, it still offers a sweet and sour flavor that makes it easy to imagine mango flesh. In this case, it's not a bad thing.

If the flavor and aroma were any stronger, it would likely become unpleasant to drink.

The drink contains 240mg of caffeine, taurine, milk thistle, ginseng, and guarana.

Since the Punch series is known for its high caffeine content, just two cans would exceed the recommended daily intake of caffeine. You’ll want to be cautious about consuming coffee, tea, or other caffeinated drinks alongside this one.

The design stands out with the bold combination of orange and black, making the Punch series pattern clearly noticeable.

However, the design isn’t easily visible from the front, and the flavor name cannot be confirmed either.

The star logo is oversized, creating a critical design flaw where essential information can’t fit on the front of the can. This is the direction that the newly rebranded Rockstar is taking with their new releases...

While the taste is one thing, the design could definitely use a full redesign sooner rather than later.

Even though it’s hard to tell what’s depicted in the new Punch series design, it still carries quite a bold and impactful presence. The series continues to release new flavors, and the variety is expanding.

It would be great if the design could become more readable in store displays by reducing the size of the star logo and making the flavor name easier to recognize.
