Raspberry, Acerola-like Flavor

First off, there’s not much of an energy drink feel here—actually, it’s almost nonexistent.

The acerola-like flavor is stronger than raspberry, and the acidity in the scent is rather weak. In terms of flavor strength, it’s on the lighter side. It’s like diluted juice made from berries you might find in a pack.

What Exactly is Blue Raspberry?

Blue raspberry, as seen in this photo, doesn’t exist in nature. There’s no such fruit. It’s a flavor commonly used in candies, ice creams, and snacks—basically junk food flavors. Now that I think about it, it makes sense.

Products made with blue raspberry flavor are blue in color, and the taste is fruity. Ice cream, for example, is made to look like this. There are plenty of bright blue juices, gums, and other products out there.

It turns out, the flavor and color of processed foods are made to match. For example, strawberries are red. Since there wasn’t a naturally blue flavor, manufacturers started using blue in the 60s or 70s for a more fun effect. At least that’s the story, right? (；´∀｀)

Blue raspberry is essentially a sweet flavor meant for kids. It feels like Rockstar, with its range of flavors like *Bubbleberry*, has a lot of those sweet, candy-like profiles.

Blue Raspberry but Red-Pink?

For some reason, the color of Rockstar's Blue Raspberry is not blue, but red. You’d think they could have stuck with the blue "unhealthy" blue raspberry color, but maybe there was a reason behind this? Haha.

After seeing the blue raspberry name, you might feel a bit off when you look at this liquid. It’s almost too normal in color. (・_・;)

As an energy drink review, this is a bit light on content, but that’s because it’s essentially just an ordinary juice. Haha. The ingredients are the same as other Rockstar series: 240mg of caffeine, 2,000mg of taurine, and notably, the carbs (sugars) are on the higher side. There are 64g of sugars in 473ml, which seems quite a lot.

Despite the high carbs, the calories are low, which is a bit curious...
