When opened, an aroma with a tangy acidity typical of a berry mix bursts out. The scent itself feels surprisingly close to real berries, but how does it taste!? Let’s give it a try.

As soon as I take a sip, a remarkably realistic berry flavor spreads across the palate, with sweet-tart blueberry, strawberry, cranberry, and raspberry blended in perfect balance.

Of course, it contains no fruit juice, but I was surprised by how well it recreates the rich acidity of real berries and even a lingering finish reminiscent of actual fruit.

Up to now, my impression of the ROCKSTAR PUNCHED series as Drin' Kun has been "a tendency to turn into candy-like flavors due to excessive sugar." Rather than faithfully recreating the natural appeal of fruit, the flavors often leaned too heavily toward sheer intensity, resulting in a cheap-tasting profile.

Seen in that context, ROCKSTAR PUNCHED BERRY BURST achieves an impressively refined berry mix flavor by skillfully balancing sugar and flavorings, to the point where it hardly feels like a no-juice product at all. There is absolutely no cheapness here; instead, I can clearly sense umami-like depth, acidity that feels juice-like, and even a moderate touch of astringency. Compared to past ROCKSTAR PUNCHED releases, this is unmistakably on a different level in terms of quality.

Among all the berry flavors released in the Rockstar series so far, this is easily one of the highest-rated. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much, which makes this surprisingly delicious result all the more impressive.

The key point is the color scheme, which clearly conveys that this is a mixed berry flavor featuring blueberry, strawberry, and other berries.

Starting in 2024, Rockstar cans in Canada began displaying the flavor name on the lower front of the can, making it much easier to identify the flavor at a glance on store shelves.

Previously, the flavor name was placed on the sides where it couldn’t be seen from the front—an almost unbelievable design flaw. Considering that, this change feels like a major improvement. However, the brand name itself is still positioned on the sides… so it looks like there is still room for further refinement in the overall product design.
