MONSTER ENERGY M-80 (30% juice)
This is a review of MONSTER ENERGY M-80, one of Monster Energy’s juice-infused products.
The product name "M-80" was likely chosen as a reference to its 80% juice content. However, since its release, the juice content has gradually been reduced, and by 2014, it was reduced to just 30%.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of MONSTER ENERGY M-80 (30% Juice)
The Monster logo is yellow, and the drink itself is also yellow. The design is similar to that of Chaos, with the label at the bottom reading "ENERGY+JUICE." Like the current American Chaos, M-80 contains 30% fruit juice and offers a fruity energy experience.
Upon opening, a rich tropical fruit aroma fills the air. It has a strong scent, similar to the intensity of Monster Original or Red Bull, but with a distinctly tropical fruity sweetness.
The flavor is primarily pineapple, with a strong aroma and taste, followed by mango and peach, creating a rich, mixed tropical juice-like flavor. The sweetness is quite intense, almost to the point of being overwhelming.
Looking at the ingredients, M-80 contains apple, passion fruit, guava, and pineapple juices and purees. If the fruit content were 50%, the fruit flavor would likely be even more pronounced. The drink has a rich texture and a fruity mouthfeel, with a lasting aftertaste that really emphasizes the fruitiness.
Few energy drinks outside of Monster Original offer such a rich, Mogu-Mogu texture that brings out the fruitiness this well.
Energy Ingredients of MONSTER ENERGY M-80 (30% Juice)
M-80 contains 160mg of caffeine, which is standard, along with taurine, ginseng, guarana, and carnitine—ingredients commonly found in Monster Energy blends.
M-80 also has the characteristic "divine mist" that settles at the bottom, which is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Feel free to enjoy the boost of energy it provides. Pouring it into a glass will let you experience the power of the Monster energy drink not just through its color, but also through the "Monster power" it seems to impart.
If you enjoy energy drinks with additives, try pouring M-80 into a glass for a more refined drinking experience.
Elegant Breakfast with MONSTER ENERGY M-80
Though the packaging of Monster Energy doesn’t typically evoke thoughts of an elegant breakfast, pouring M-80 into a glass turns it into a rich tropical fruit juice. Its sweet, intense aroma fills the air (*´艸`*), making it the perfect companion for toast, salad, or fruit in the morning. It’s an excellent choice for starting the day with an energy boost before heading out.
