Rockstar CEO joins billionaire ranks
Rockstar's CEO is Actually Quite Young

Russell Weiner, CEO of Rockstar, has joined the ranks of billionaires, and he's only 44 years old. He owns over 80% of the company’s shares, with the remaining approximately 15% owned by his mother, Russell Mama. It's truly impressive.
His net worth is said to be 15 billion dollars!
While Rockstar might not be well-known in Japan, it is the third-largest energy drink in the U.S. and its performance is on the rise.
The Greatness of Becoming a Billionaire Even When You Can't Compete with Red Bull and Monster
When it comes to the top three energy drinks in the U.S., it's Rockstar, Red Bull, and Monster Energy.
Up until now, Red Bull had the number one market share in the U.S., but according to sales estimates for 2013, the gap between Red Bull and second-place Monster Energy has almost disappeared, and there's a possibility that Monster Energy might overtake Red Bull.
Red Bull: $3,433 million, Monster: $3,147 million, while Rockstar, in third place, has $821 million in sales.
The gap between second and third place is quite noticeable. (;´∀`)

Rockstar is currently sold in over 30 countries worldwide, and globally, its sales rank is also third, just like in the U.S. However, compared to Red Bull and Monster Energy, its performance is not as strong. (Even Monster Energy is less than half of Red Bull's global sales.)
Despite the significant gap between the top two companies, there's no doubt that Rockstar is selling well worldwide. With almost all of its shares owned by him, the success is massive. This is truly impressive.
Personally, I like Rockstar and would love to see it sold more seriously in Japan. With the right flavor range and promotional efforts, there's no doubt it can become a truly strong energy drink. That's why I wanted to cover the news about the billionaire aspect too.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 8,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
