bang PURPLE KIDDLES

Released in April 2020, this is one of two Patriot-themed designs, bang PURPLE KIDDLES, which was initially limited to U.S. military bases.
I had thought it was going to remain a military base exclusive, but starting from August 2020, it became available for purchase on the official website, and it was further rolled out nationwide to retail stores, making it more accessible to the general public.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 8,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Artificial Sour Candy Flavor
Upon opening, a strong artificial grape scent fills the air. It’s reminiscent of unhealthy American snacks or even laundry detergent—quite intense. For Japanese consumers, it might even raise concerns about whether it's safe to drink.

Taking a sip, the intense scent translates into a soft, sweet-and-sour flavor that feels like drinking concentrated gummy candy or gum from overseas.
When chilled, it surprisingly tastes quite good. As you get used to the scent, the sweetness becomes subtle and refreshing, without lingering. Even in a 473ml can, it’s enjoyable all the way to the end.
Energy Ingredients of bang PURPLE KIDDLES

It contains 300mg of caffeine, creatine, CoQ10, and EAA, making it a fitness-oriented energy drink.
The bang series has been renewed with the addition of EAA, as other companies launched similar brands and caught up.

Other than caffeine, the exact amounts of the ingredients aren’t listed (but they are probably in small quantities). However, the inclusion of EAA, which has gained popularity in bodybuilding recently, helps solidify its status as a fitness-focused energy drink. This is definitely a plus.
Design of bang PURPLE KIDDLES

The can has a white base with an American flag design, and within the bang logo, there is a fighter jet. Initially released exclusively at U.S. military base facilities, the red, blue, and white American flag colors and this unique design set it apart from the regular bang series.

The back also follows the American flag color scheme, giving it a clean, patriotic feel.

Here’s a look at the bang STRAWBERRY BLAST alongside bang PURPLE KIDDLES. The American flag colors and design make any product look cool.
There are several energy drink brands supporting military-related organizations, and especially given the nature of energy drinks, the American flag design works well with the product. I hope we continue to see more special editions like this one from brands such as bang in the future.
