Suntory's third release in the ZONe energy drink series, ZONe DEEP DIVE Ver.1.0.0, features a beautiful blue gradient design. What kind of flavor will emerge from this striking blue can!?

Update: On December 14, 2021, ZONe DEEP DIVE was updated from version 1.0.0 to "1.0.920." The design has been renewed, and I have added a follow-up review.

Flavor of ZONe DEEP DIVE

Upon opening, a scent reminiscent of Calpis or Skål bursts out, and the liquid itself is a milky white color. Just from the smell and color, you can pretty much guess how it tastes. (*´艸｀*)

As expected, it has a sweet, Calpis soda-like flavor. However, unlike typical lactic acid drinks, it has a smooth and light texture rather than a thick, creamy mouthfeel.

There is little to no residue left in the mouth, and the aftertaste is a gentle sweetness similar to Calpis soda that lingers quietly before fading away.

While the flavor is similar to lactic acid drinks or Calpis, it doesn’t feel heavy or overly rich. Instead, it’s quite light and refreshing, making it a great choice for those who prefer a clean, crisp taste. On the other hand, if you're looking for something with a strong, satisfying richness, ZONe DEEP DIVE might not be the best choice. (^_^;)

You can enhance the refreshing experience by adding ice or enjoy its sweetness when chilled in the fridge. Its mild and pleasant taste should appeal to a wide audience—if you like Calpis soda, you'll have no problem enjoying this.

Energy Ingredients of ZONe DEEP DIVE Ver.1.0.0

ZONe DEEP DIVE
Contains 75mg of caffeine, 500mg of arginine, and 5g of palatinose. The caffeine content is quite low for a 500ml drink, so overconsumption may not be much of a concern.

However, it does contain a whopping 68g of carbohydrates, so excessive sugar intake is something to watch out for. Given that ZONe energy drinks are heavily marketed toward digital and gaming lifestyles, chugging this high-sugar drink while sitting for long hours isn't exactly the healthiest choice. Σ(´∀｀；)

With such a mild sweetness, they probably could have maintained the same taste with half the sugar.

Design of ZONe DEEP DIVE Ver.1.0.0

ZONe DEEP DIVE
The beautiful gradient from turquoise blue to deep blue creates the impression of sinking into the depths, perfectly matching the "Deep Dive" theme. The clean white text stands out nicely.

Like ZONe FIREWALL, it was quite eye-catching on store shelves. The large 500ml size not only offers great value but also makes it stand out even more.
