Flavor of Coconut-scented Pineapple, Pina Colada

When opened, the sweet scent of coconut fills the air. It seems to be a tropical fruit flavor perfect for summer!

The drink itself is a cloudy, bright yellow. With the coconut and fruity scent, it's easy to imagine the taste. Let's give it a try.

Upon taking a sip, the coconut aroma blends with the sweet pineapple, a hint of orange, and a refreshing peach-like taste, evoking the flavor of a Pina Colada cocktail.

At first, the coconut scent is quite strong, but as you get used to it, the coconut becomes a pleasant accent to the sweet pineapple. However, those who are not fond of coconut may still find the scent a bit overpowering.

ZONe Trance contains 10% fruit juice. However, the fruitiness isn't strong enough to feel like bursting with fruit, and the aftertaste doesn't linger too long. Instead, it's a light and refreshing pineapple & coconut flavor, which some might describe as too mild or lacking punch.

By the way, in the United States, Rockstar's Pina Colada flavor was once released, and it was absolutely delicious. Currently, Pina Colada is also available from Bang, which features zero calories and zero sugar. If you’re traveling to the U.S., I highly recommend trying it out.

Now, back to ZONe Trance... I tried it with ice to make it even more refreshing.

Since the pineapple flavor in ZONe Trance isn’t very intense to begin with, cooling it too much can make the taste too subtle. However, personally, I think the refreshing mouthfeel and smooth throat sensation when it's slightly chilled is just right.

Previously, ZONe Utopia, which was packed with fruit juice, was often compared to Pipeline Punch. Many people probably expected ZONe Trance to have a similarly rich fruit flavor, but it is more light and refreshing in comparison.

However, ZONe Trance is all about the refreshing Pina Colada flavor, and I think many people will prefer it to Utopia because it’s easier to drink.

Energy Ingredients of ZONe Trance

ZONe Trance contains 75mg of caffeine, 500mg of arginine, and 5g of Palatinose, a slow-release energy ingredient, which is a common energy profile for the ZONe series.

The 10% fruit juice it contains is from orange.

The caffeine content is relatively low, but the 68.5g of carbohydrates might be a bit much, so it’s important to watch your sugar intake. While the ZONe series generally contains a lot of sugar, I think the fruity flavor of ZONe Trance could work well as a zero-sugar, zero-calorie drink. I'm excited to see a fruity zero-zero version in the future!

Design of ZONe Trance

The bright can color, featuring yellow with green gradients and a triangle overlapping the power logo, immediately catches your eye. It stood out on store shelves thanks to its fluorescent look. Looking at just the can color, you might expect a lemon-lime citrus flavor.

ZONe Trance has also changed from "Digital Performance Energy" to "Unlimited Performance Energy."

On the back, there’s a DJ booth and people dancing. It seems to expand on digital and otaku cultures and take inspiration from trance, just as the product name suggests.

The fluorescent yellow of ZONe Trance definitely stands out, and even while carrying it home, I could feel people staring at me (；´∀｀).

Having a standout design is important when you're drinking it, too. I look forward to seeing new products with all kinds of creative motifs in the future.
