Red Bull SUDACHI EDITION (Japan)

This is a review of Red Bull Sudachi Edition, released on July 14, 2026 as a new summer flavor.

Overseas, this flavor was released as the Sudachi Lime flavor of the 2026 Summer Edition, a seasonal summer release. In Japan, however, it was introduced not as a limited seasonal edition, but as a permanent product under the name "Sudachi Edition."

Flavor of Red Bull Sudachi Edition

On the palate, a sweet-tart and refreshing citrus flavor gently spreads, creating a sensation as if the fruitiness is soaking in smoothly. Although there is a slight lingering finish, both the sweetness and acidity remain clean and natural, resulting in an easy-drinking experience.

The citrus profile is reminiscent of the refreshing yuzu flavor from the discontinued Japan-exclusive Yellow Edition. Compared to the original Yellow Edition, Sudachi Edition has a softer mouthfeel with a more balanced acidity, which is one of its defining characteristics.

This Sudachi Edition delivers a flavor that is truly perfect for summer.

Personally, I recommend enjoying it chilled. The flavors of yuzu, sudachi, lemon, and lime are at their most balanced and enjoyable when served at refrigerator temperature.

Adding plenty of ice makes it even lighter and more refreshing by reducing the sweetness, but since the flavor is already quite delicate, too much chilling causes the rich citrus notes to fade. For the best experience, I think it’s best enjoyed at refrigerator temperature.

Design of Red Bull Sudachi Edition

The design combines a soft matte yellow as the main color with silver and a muted fawn tone, creating a three-color combination.

The matte texture and color palette give it the same premium feel that is characteristic of Red Bull designs.

That said, the color is a little different from what I would normally associate with sudachi.

Sudachi is traditionally associated with a green color, but this flavor uses a unified yellow design worldwide. I assume the color was chosen to evoke more familiar citrus flavors such as yuzu, making the taste easier to imagine for people overseas who may not be familiar with sudachi.

This is the U.S. Summer Edition "Sudachi Lime," released as a seasonal summer flavor.

It’s exciting that Japan can now enjoy the latest global Red Bull flavor at the same time as other countries. The fact that a Japanese citrus fruit like sudachi was chosen is also something to appreciate as a Japanese consumer.

With its refreshing flavor that’s perfect for summer, this is a release that makes me want to reach for another can.
