Upon opening the can, a sweet and sour fragrance immediately burst out. However, what is that scent? It doesn’t really smell like kiwi, and it’s hard to describe. It’s similar to the feeling in Japan's Spring Edition, where the scent doesn't exactly evoke kiwi.

When poured into a glass, the liquid is transparent with a pale lime green color. I had imagined a more vibrant and rich green, so this color and fragrance made me think the taste would be quite light.

Upon tasting it... the flavor was completely different from what I imagined. The sweetness of the kiwi is faint, and a strong sourness combined with the sweeteners gives a hint of kiwi-like flavor, but the sourness lingers and creates an artificial taste, which was disappointing.

In my wild imagination, I expected a more intense and juicy kiwi fruit sweetness, followed by a stimulating sourness, leaving a refreshing, bubbly aftertaste... a more full-bodied, fruity kiwi flavor. But instead, it turned out to be the opposite—an artificial and hard-to-grasp taste. I suppose it's unrealistic to expect so much from a drink with no actual fruit juice in it (laughs). This is a sign of how high the expectations are for the Edition series.

Compared to the Orange Edition released in 2016, this has lost the vibrant fruitiness that made past Editions so impressive, now tasting quite artificial... (ヽ´ω`)

Energy Ingredients of Kiwi Twist

The energy ingredients are the standard Red Bull formula, with 114mg of caffeine and taurine, but not much else to note.

People who say Red Bull is dangerous should take a look at the ingredient list. Everything that is included and not included is clearly stated.

Design of Kiwi Twist

I like this color, but since the taste was different from what I imagined, I’m left wondering if the can design is the only good thing about it (laughs).

The back features the 2016 design, where the blue now has color. The Yellow Edition, which had a yellow tab in 2016, was all silver. In Japan, the 2016 Summer Edition is silver and yellow, and the Spring Edition is silver and pink. This seems to be the trend for this year.

The pull tab is unfortunately silver. I wonder if they’ll change to a colored tab like the Yellow Edition sometime in the future?!
