Flavor of Red Bull Winter Edition 2025 Apple

When opened, a refreshing sweet aroma of apple pulp spreads out, followed by a faint ginger-like spiciness that gently tickles the nose. Although the package states “Apple Flavor,” it seems likely that a hint of ginger has also been added. Let’s give it a try.

The moment it touches the tongue, a burst of crisp apple juiciness spreads with a refreshing flavor. As expected from Red Bull, it beautifully recreates the taste of real apples even without using actual juice.

The apple aroma isn’t overly emphasized either, keeping the balance so that you can enjoy the natural, pleasant apple taste — definitely a strong point here.

The ginger scent noticed upon opening lingers faintly in the aftertaste, drifting through the nose as you exhale. Those sensitive to spices in general will likely pick up on this subtle ginger note within the apple flavor. It becomes even easier to notice when drinking at a temperature close to room temperature.

That said, there’s no spiciness at all — the ginger is purely aromatic, so apple clearly remains the main flavor. Because it’s not spicy, you might not even notice the ginger note when enjoying it with food.

Though it’s a limited Winter Edition product, it’s also highly recommended served over ice.

The crisp sweetness of the apple pulp flavor really stands out.

Interestingly, while the Japanese release of the Winter Edition 2025 simply lists “Apple Flavor,” overseas it’s explicitly marketed as “Fuji Apple & Ginger.”

From the product name alone, I assumed Japan’s Winter Edition 2025 was a pure apple flavor. Since the press release made no mention of ginger either, I was surprised to find that the Japanese version also includes a hint of ginger.

Design of Red Bull Winter Edition 2025 Apple

Red Bull Winter Edition 2025 Apple features the world’s first gradient design in the Edition series — blending the red of the apple skin into the yellow of the flesh.

Up until now, Japan’s seasonal limited Edition series had been unique and different from the global releases, but for winter 2025, it has been brought in line with the rest of the world. If you travel abroad during this period, you’ll likely find a Winter Edition with nearly the same design and flavor as Japan’s.

The design uses five colors: silver bull, apple red, yellow, white around the logo, and dark gray.

In addition to the main gradient colors, the use of subdued dark gray is a fresh change not seen in previous Edition series designs.

This dark gray accent continues onto the back side of the can.

By pairing dark gray text with a yellow background, the back text is easier to read while maintaining a unified and visually appealing color scheme that flows seamlessly from the front — a unique touch of the Red Bull Winter Edition 2025 Apple.

For the past six to seven years, I’ve often written in reviews that using only a single main color limits a product’s appeal and risks overlapping with past limited editions.

Now that several new energy drink brands gaining strong support in the U.S. are expanding worldwide, this design change in the Winter Edition 2025 feels like Red Bull’s own attempt to break through its current plateau.
