Red Bull Orange Edition
The ORANGE EDITION was released in the United States in February 2016. Unlike the Zero-Zero ORANGE EDITION released in 2015, this one features a new normal tangerine flavor.

The total edition version has already disappeared, so this ORANGE EDITION will remain as the standard color edition product moving forward.

Flavor of Red Bull ORANGE EDITION

When opening the can, the aroma doesn’t burst out strongly, and it’s rather mild compared to the bright color of the can. When poured into a glass, a subtle sweetness reminiscent of sugary syrup fills the air, but it doesn’t smell like orange.

The color of the drink is a bright orange, more transparent than I expected, resembling caramel in color, rather than the dense orange I had imagined, similar to Monster Chaos.

Upon tasting, the cotton candy-like sweetness and lingering acidity overwhelm the taste of orange and tangerine, and for a moment, it’s hard to tell if it’s an orange-flavored drink at all. It’s a bit of a disappointment if you were expecting the rich, strong orange flavor of Chaos.

From the vibrant orange can, I had hoped for a more fruity flavor, but instead, it lacks the fruitiness I imagined, and the aftertaste is not pleasant. It’s the most artificial flavor among the Edition series.

While drinking, I thought it could pass as an orange sports drink without any issues. It’s a shame it’s not a flavor you savor like the Red Edition or Blue Edition.

Energy Ingredients of Red Bull ORANGE EDITION

With 114mg of caffeine, 1000mg of taurine, and similar ingredients to regular Red Bull, it left me wondering if artificial sweeteners were used, but I found that they weren’t.

Like most Edition series drinks, this one is made without fruit juice, but I wish it had a bit more of a juice-like essence, especially with the tangerine flavor. I feel like they reached the limits of flavor reproduction here.

Expectations for Future Flavors

The can design is bold with a bright orange color, which I personally liked a lot, but the taste didn’t quite match the image I had from the can, making it a bit disappointing. I think a punchier orange flavor would’ve been better.

If I’m choosing orange, I would likely go for the more affordable Juice Monster Chaos.

The pull tab is silver. When the Yellow Edition was revamped around the same time, it got a yellow tab, so if the Orange Edition continues, I’m hoping for an orange tab.

I purchased it while traveling around East Los Angeles. On that scorching hot February day, I wonder if it would have tasted different had I chugged it down at that time, but the artificial aftertaste probably wouldn’t have been refreshing enough to quench my thirst.
